It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the Spatial Technologies Industry Association's (STIA) 2nd annual national policy symposium and exhibition -- SPATIAL-TECH 2004 -- for the integrated spatial technologies industry in the United States. The symposium is STIA's premiere annual event to advance the interests of the industry and the geospatial community as a whole.
The program for SPATIAL-TECH 2004 was developed by key geospatial players from industry; federal, state, and local government; and Congress. The purpose of this year’s symposium is to create a powerful exchange of ideas and learning experience with public and private sector leaders who will provide insightful commentary on issues of critical importance to the future of the geospatial technologies industry and the nation. SPATIAL-TECH 2004 is focused on advancing the understanding of the geospatial technologies industry and its essential role in homeland security.
The symposium will feature senior officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as keynote and panel speakers. Members of Congress such as U.S. House Armed Services Committee Vice Chair Curt Weldon and U.S. House Subcommittee on Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and the Census Chair Adam Putnam are also confirmed speakers among the more than 40 senior leaders from government, industry, academia, and stakeholder organizations.
The symposium will examine the convergence of geospatial technologies into mainstream IT, federal government policies and programs, lessons learned from the defense intelligence community, and intergovernmental partnerships. The symposium will also highlight the growing use of commercial geospatial capabilities by first responders, emergency management officials, and leaders in charge of critical infrastructure protection and public safety.
SPATIAL-TECH 2004 is intended to help facilitate the consensus needed between the public and private sectors to achieve the level of national geospatial preparedness that is required to guarantee America's security and prosperity.
For complete information about registration, exhibiting, and sponsorship as well as a schedule of the symposium's special social and recreational events, please view the SPATIAL-TECH 2004 web site at www.ntpshow.com/spatialtech.
